The SA Chamber of Commerce in the USA (SACCUSA) supported a few events held across the USA during Women’s month in August. Women’s Day is celebrated on August 9 and this year’s theme was centred around women’s socio-economic rights and empowerment. The concept of generation equality is a global campaign and links South Africa to global efforts to achieve gender equality.
The weather was perfect, the treats were delicious and the kuier was outstanding! The July Tannie’s Tea, held at the home of Cornelia Vance in Hendersonville, was well supported and there were even South African favourites like biltong and boerewors for sale
The South African Women in the USA and Canada (SAWITU) weekend was a roaring success. A highlight event was the Tannies Tea held in Centennial Park in Nashville, which concluded the line-up of activities.
