The South African Women in the USA and Canada (SAWITU) weekend was a roaring success. A highlight event was the Tannies Tea held in Centennial Park in Nashville, which concluded the line-up of activities.
It was a jolly occasion when Friends of South Africa (FoSA) in Nashville held their annual Spring bring-and-braai at the end of March. Grant and Maresa Hensley’s home, with a typical Tennessee barn, and bright blue skies offered a perfect setting for a typical South African kuier.
South Africans were flying the flag high at the recent International Fair held at the University School of Nashville. The team of proud South Africans represented culinary delights like mini bunny chows and little haystacks (coconut and chocolate).
Colours bold and bright, the beautiful sounds of mariachi music and a shot of tequila – all in one day.
