Twenty years ago a group of ex-pats in Nashville founded a networking platform for SA women living in Tennessee. Fondly called the ‘Tannie’s Tee’ this regular event, held on the last Wednesday of every month, has become an institution. The ‘Tannies Tee’ group is part of the Friends of South Africa Nashville group and has regular braais and cocktail parties, and the annual Christmas market and party is a highlight. The group occasionally invites a guest speaker to the event and uses the opportunity to network on a business and social level.
