It was a jolly occasion when Friends of South Africa (FoSA) in Nashville held their annual Spring bring-and-braai at the end of March. Grant and Maresa Hensley’s home, with a typical Tennessee barn, and bright blue skies offered a perfect setting for a typical South African kuier.

South Africans were flying the flag high at the recent International Fair held at the University School of Nashville. The team of proud South Africans represented culinary delights like mini bunny chows and little haystacks (coconut and chocolate).

It was all glitz and glam, with the flavour of Africa, during a recent dinner reception in honour of Dr Akintoye Akindele from Nigeria, who was appointed Goodwill Ambassador and Honorary Citizen of Georgia.

Pure mouth-watering delights, including dainty South African style cucumber sandwiches, crustless melktert, old fashioned melktert, Cremora condensed milk tarts and biltong, were amongst the picks at the recent ‘Tannie’s Tea’ held in Nashville.
Texas Potjie Festival celebrates 20 years
Potjiekos is such a great South African tradition and this year’s Texas Potjie Festival celebrated 20 years of great fun and sharing a heritage with friends and family.
