Bliksem, that was fun! Team Vuvuzela crushed it when they won the Spirit Award at the recent Dragon Boat Festival held on the East bank of the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee.

The recent Kentucky Potjie was a roaring success with 150 Saffas gathering around the aromas of chicken curry, lamb, oxtail, beef, chicken and vegetarian potjies while reminiscing about the shared traditions of their home country.
Fumana International has done it again! Moira and Gretchen Henkel were both honoured and surprised when they were recently invited to showcase some of SA’s best wines at the Southeast Emmy Awards event, a division of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
The evergreen sounds of Mama Mirriam Makeba’s click song have the ability to change the mood, get the feet tapping and the bodies moving! This is exactly what happened when Freedom Day was celebrated in April at an event held at Studio 135ATL in Atlanta.
The South African Women in the USA and Canada (SAWITU) weekend was a roaring success. A highlight event was the Tannies Tea held in Centennial Park in Nashville, which concluded the line-up of activities.
The recent Braai Day held in Maryland to celebrate Freedom Day was a huge success, with about 200 South Africans attending the event. Ambassador Mrs Nomaindiya Mfeketo and her team formed part of the day’s program and the ambassador used the opportunity to introduce her team to everyone present.

Hie’ kommie Bokke..fans! More than a hundred Saffas enjoyed the AfriDaisy Back the Boks Bokkejol held at the end of July.
Saffas joined in to celebrate Mandela Day in July at Nando’s in the Mosaic district in Washington.
The Nashville tannies gathering in August was held at the home of Nanette O’Grady, also known as The Southern Protea.
