In an effort to attract investment in digital infrastructure at the Vaal SEZ, and propel the growth of Gauteng’s digital economy, SACCUSA recently joined the Gauteng Department of Economic Development Trade Delegation to the US under the leadership of MEC Tasneem Motara. By tapping into the expertise and networks of SACCUSA, the partnership with Gauteng seeks to stimulate innovation and create opportunities.

The chamber’s involvement underscores the importance of productive international relationships that transcend national boundaries.

This collaboration demonstrates the willingness of organisations like SACCUSA to support sub-national governments from SA, such as Gauteng, to promote bi-national growth and prosperity. Notable members of the Gauteng Trade Delegation include the US Consul General in Johannesburg, Mr Vincent Sperra and Mr Bulumko Nelana, Deputy Director General of Economic Planning. Gauteng is the economic hub of the African continent and offers US-based businesses a gateway to Africa through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) agreement.
