The South African Chamber was delighted to participate in the prestigious Singapore & Asia Food Fair held in Johannesburg. Chamber President Nigel Ritson and Executive Director Keridyn Heatlie had the honour of attending the opening ceremony, organised by esteemed members Ezekiel Ang and Faustina Lee from Biz Africa Events.

During the event, the chamber received a plaque in recognition of its contribution to the success of the food fair. His Excellency Zainal Arif Mantaha presented the plaque, further strengthening the bond between the Chamber and Singapore’s diplomatic community. Keridyn Heatlie also had the pleasure of meeting with the inspiring ladies from IWFCI South Africa, Rakhee Ramgolam, Annie Chan, Ann Chua, and Vino Pillay.

This encounter paved the way for future collaborations and exciting opportunities. As a highlight of the trade forum, Nigel Ritson was invited to deliver the opening speech.

The forum provided a platform for meaningful discussions on trade opportunities in the Singapore and Asia market. It was an honour to connect with members from Absa, Premeshin Naidoo, Incahoots and Aneta Koscielska, who actively participated in the forum.

The event also included a gala networking dinner, where the chamber had the privilege of meeting Ms. Pinky Kekana, the Deputy Minister in the Presidency. During the trade mission, the chamber introduced the Singapore delegation to Ocean Basket, a remarkable South African success story.

Members of the delegation learned about the humble beginnings of the business and its impressive international growth. The chamber would like to extend its sincere congratulations to its valued members at Biz Africa Events for organizing such successful events.
