Potjie gathering a tasty affair

The recent Kentucky Potjie was a roaring success with 150 Saffas gathering around the aromas of chicken curry, lamb, oxtail, beef, chicken and vegetarian potjies while reminiscing about the shared traditions of their home country.

Folks from Indiana, Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kentucky joined the event which was organised by Ntaba Coffee Haus, owned by Robin and Stella Mountain. The event was also held behind the BRAND NEW Ntaba Coffee Haus which is currently under construction and will open in October.

The potjiekos event will be held again next year, on August 23. Maggie Millar says what was most exciting was how people genuinely enjoyed meeting each other and making new friends. The vendors made wonderful connections and at the end of the day spent around the bonfire, the stories continued till late into the night.
