Meet our board: Vice-President focuses on growing markets

Magda Odendaal is Vice-President of SACCUSA, a role she took up in August 2021, with a focus on growing the US market for South African consumer goods and services.

Magda is the CEO of an Import and Distribution company that specialize in South African consumer goods. Magda and her husband Nico have scaled their business, South African Emporium, over the past 20 years to be the market leader to supply SA products in America.

She followed a journey through the corporate world as an executive for many years before she turned to entrepreneurship and started her own business.

Magda’s journey in the corporate and business world saw her playing leadership roles on an international scale and she worked with representatives of over 100 countries.

She has extensive experience in the development of leadership in Africa and is a qualified leader in psychology and a counsellor.

Magda has hosted radio and television programs in Africa and she is passionate about changing people’s lives. She serves as the National Transformation Coordinator, Southern Africa, for John Maxwell’s Equip International.

She is the International Ambassador for Unashamedly Ethical based in Cape Town, South Africa, promoting ethical leadership in life and in business.

She still hosts a Gospel Radio Program for FM GOSPEL reaching more than four million listeners globally every week.

Dragon boat race fun!

It has become a tradition for Friends of South Africa (FoSA) Nashville to compete in the city’s annual Cumberland River Dragon boat races. This year FoSA entered two boats, The Vuvuzela Sharks and the Vuvuzela Sparks, with a total of 40 paddlers and two drummers dressed in our best zebra attire.
