The South African Women in the USA and Canada (SAWITU) weekend was a roaring success. A highlight event was the Tannies Tea held in Centennial Park in Nashville, which concluded the line-up of activities.

The weather was perfect and table hosts, Juanita Mitchell, Dari Patsioka, Deborah Vermooten, Heike Weber, Cayla Stewart, Sheree Bezuidenhout, Samantha Jade Leresche, Chane de Beer, Marlize Drotsky Smit, Lilly Van Wyk, Amanda Queck, Heloïse van Huyssteen, Ingrid Perdikis, Daniela Popa, Lynne Siesser, Michelle Hamman and Charlotte Schnetler did a sterling job of providing the best treats to guests.

There were also prizes up for grabs and Nanette O’Grady won for her best sweet dish and the ‘baby tannies’ won for their incredible savory pies! THE SHEBEEN won the best table award.
